Icarex bayonet mount (BM mount) adapter

The Zeiss Ikon Voigtländer Icarex bayonet mount (also called BM mount) is a bayonet mount that was introduced in the late sixties and early seventies. It was manufactured in West Germany by Zeiss Ikon and Voigtländer. Cameras using this mount type were all from the Icarex 35 line. Icarex cameras that have no branding or are marked with BM (Bayonet Mount) use the Icarex Bayonet mount (the BM lenses are recognizable by the red dot on the side of the mount). Icarex cameras branded with TM (thread mount) and the Icarex SL706 use M42 lenses. M42 lenses tend to be newer as the M42 mount was introduced later than the Bayonet Mount for the Icarex.
Some notable lenses available in BM mount are the Carl Zeiss Ultron 1.8 50, the Carl Zeiss Skoparex 3.4 35 and the Carl Zeiss Tessar 2.8 50. Although the BM adapter is more expensive than the M42 adapter, BM lenses tend to be cheaper than their M42 mounted counterparts.
